Florida lawns thrive at a PH close to neutral. Bad PH will result in thin areas. Decaying foliage from Live Oak trees and Pine trees increases soil acidity. Smelly irrigation water usually indicates PH changing elements in the irrigation water. We provide free soil testing and offer one time soil amendments to correct PH imbalances.
We replace entire lawns or can replace patches of bad turf in existing good sod. Over time some lawns incur damaged areas. These thin areas fill in with Crabgrass and Wild Bermuda. We can eliminate these bad areas and replace with new sod.

We recommend deep waterings (usually 30 minutes for fixed irrigation heads and 45 minutes for rotating heads) two times a week with 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM as a start time. Following this schedule will make your lawn less susceptible to disease and more efficient at absorbing water due to deep root systems.
Grass should only be cut when it is needed. Cutting drought stressed grass unnecessarily causes lawn damage and die back. Mulching and returning grass clippings will add more fertility to the soil. Not bagging your grass when cut will also culminate in an added humus layer (dark top soil) to your lawns sandy soil profile. St Augustine grass should be cut to 4 inches (usually the highest setting on most decks). Zoyzia grass should be cut to 2.5 to 3 inches.
Chinch bugs are predatory to St. Augustine lawns. Damage usually starts around side walks, drive ways and other heat retaining sources. Damage manifests as reddish brown discoloration followed by dieback. Due to not having hard freezes in Florida, chinch bugs will continue to feed year round causing more dieback until treatment is applied.
Aeration has multiple utilities for Florida lawns. Removed soil cores decompact soil. Plugs should be left on lawn so as to decompose back into the thatch layer. Reduced thatch helps rid lawn of disease. Opening up soil adds oxygen to root level which is intrinsic to nitrification (nitrogen assemblage with oxygen) in all grass plants. Removing soil cores allows for root expansion. Aeration also splices stolons (runners) creating many new grass plants which adds up to a thicker healthier lawn.
Synthetic is a steroid with nothing behind it. Many people treated by conventional companies often experience their lawns health plateau or even crash after extended treatment schedules.
Organic fertilizers are teaming with biology that aid in nitrification. Humus horizons (top soil) are added to the soil profile by biological breakdown of decomposing matter culminating in better water and nutrient retention in the soil.
If you have dieback due to disease, fungicides can help to cure and prevent the spread of most lawn fungi and disease. A common mistake to curing disease outbreak is stopping watering schedule altogether. After proper watering times and schedule have been followed, fungicides may be needed to stop progression if disease still persists.
